Zinbarg retired in 1994 as Executive Vice President of Prudential Insurance Company.
During almost 35 years of service, he was Chief Economist, Chief Investment Officer
for publicly traded securities, and Chief Administrative Officer.
Zinbarg's most recent book is Faith, Morals, and Money: What the World's Religions
Tell Us About Ethics in the Marketplace (Continuum, 2001). Previously, he
co-authored Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management (Richard D. Irwin),
a widely used textbook that appeared in five editions over a 20-year period.
Zinbarg holds a Ph.D. in economics from New York University; Doctor of Letters
and M.A. degrees in religious ethics from Drew University; an MBA in finance
from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School; and a BBA in economics
from City University of New York. He was Adjunct Professor of Finance at City
University for 15 years.
Zinbarg is currently a director of
the Merrill Lynch mutual fund complex
and of a major private trust fund.
He has been President of Oheb Shalom
Congregation in South Orange, N.J.,
and he serves on the boards of a
number of religious, philanthropic,
and cultural institutions. These
include the Rabbinical School of
the Jewish Theological Seminary,
the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra,
and the Jewish Community Foundation
of MetroWest.
