This year’s conference, titled “The Ethics of Effective Communication in Healthcare,” will examine ethical issues in communication that arise in clinical and managerial contexts in healthcare. Moral questions occur in communication between clinicians and patients, among clinicians, and between managers and employees.
At the completion of this educational activity, participants will:
- Better understand the challenges of communicating both ethically and effectively.
- Gain an understanding of important factors that impact communication in healthcare settings.
- Achieve insight into how to improve communication in the health care workplace.

Accreditation: The Office of Continuing Education, School of Medicine, University of Missouri designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 10.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Up to 9.9 Contact Hours will be awarded through the University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing. Participants must attend the offering, complete the evaluation form and pay in full. Missouri Nurses Association provider Number 713-XII.
The MU School of Social Work has approved this program for a total of 10.33 contact hours and 1.022 Continuing Education Units. There is an additional $10 cost for credit which must be submitted with the registration form.
