Shakir Moody, a native of Iraq and 26-year U.S. resident, will provide insight into the “Arab Spring” at the Noel P. Gist Brown Bag Seminar Series on International Affairs at MU. The talk, titled “The Arab Spring: Preliminary Observations,” is sponsored by the MU International Center.
Moody obtained a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Baghdad in 1975 and a master’s degree in thermodynamics from the University of Glasgow in Scotland in 1979. He worked briefly at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. before coming to MU in 1985. Moody has previously spoken about Middle East politics and history at Gist seminars.
