The 2012 MizzouDiversity Summit, titled “What’s Civility Got to Do with It? Engaging Effectively in a Diverse Community,” will take place over the course of two days at MU and include lectures and workshops from civility scholars and experts from a variety of backgrounds. In addition, MU Chancellor Brady Deaton will deliver a State of Diversity Address at the university.
The keynote speaker will be David Livingstone Smith, director of the New England Institute for Cognitive Science and Evolutionary Studies in Biddeford, Maine. A full list of events, and a link to required online registration, can be found at the MizzouDiversity Summit website.
Time/Date: Planned activities run from 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30. The keynote address from David Livingstone Smith is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday.

Cost: The event is free and open to interested parties affiliated with the university, however the Chancellor’s Diversity Office requests pre-registration online.
