Dr. Friedrichsen is an associate professor in science education at MU jointly appointed in the Department of Learning, Teaching & Curriculum and the Division of Biological Sciences. She teaches an introductory biology course for non-science majors and pedagogy courses in the secondary science teacher education program. Her presentation is part of a “Curriculum and Conflict in American Education” presentation and panel discussion also featuring Joyce Gentry, RN, MSN, who will address the role of comprehensive sex education in health classes; and Linda Coutts, who will discuss how curriculum is determined.
